Back!

So after an exceptionally long hiatus, I thought I would put a brand spanking new entry into this old thing :)  A LOT has happened since my last post - lots of god stuff, some bad stuff, but overall just way too much stuff to describe in detail here .  Anyway, life is going really well right now (and has been for a while ).  I'm earning my doctorate in clinical psych now on the east coast, I'm absolutely LOVING school, and *gasp* I have a boyfriend .  He's in the doctoral program with me and he's wonderful.  We're just barely over two months in so it's still early but things are going really well thus far. 

The main reason I wanted to post was that i was thinking about how much my life and overall attitude has changed throughout the last few years.  About 4 years ago, I was depressed, lonely, and just overall an unhappy person even though I was surrounded by great friends and what has been and will always be my favorite school.  Now fast forward to just a few days ago.  I was doing my GA hours and working on some assignments that I was apparently very focused on.  A classmate comes out of a session and asks me "Are you okay?"  I reply "Yes, I'm fine.  Why?" (I really was fine and I just wanted to know what made them think I wasn't okay).  She replied "Oh you just looked kinda tired and your eyes are a little red.  Maybe that's what it was."  She wandered away for a moment and then popped her head back in and said "I know what it is now.  Usually when I see you, you are smiling."  This made me soooo happy even though she brought it up because I *wasn't* smiling.  It just made me feel really good for someone to say that I'm usually smiling   A few years ago, there was a much greater chance of me crying than smiling and now I've apparenty turned into someone who smiles a LOT to the extent that people think something is wrong if I'm not smiling   Anyway, that just made me really happy and I wanted to write about it here!  For now, I'm going to go take a bath and then buckle down and get some work done before joining some friends for a birthday party tonight!  Woot!!!
